With the recent release of Local 6.0, the Local platform is now free for everyone. Features that were once only available for WP Engine and Flywheel customers can now be accessed by any WordPress user.
According to the announcement, “By making previously subscriber-only tools like Live Links, MagicSync, Link Checker, Image Optimizer, and Instant Reload available for free, we’re continuing to bring the best, most innovative solutions to more developers. That way, they can continue to improve both their own sites and the larger WordPress ecosystem as a whole!”
How Can You Use Local?
Local simplifies site-building by offering a wide-host of features. Use the Link Checker fo find problems on your site before you push it live. Send clients Live Links, so they can see website changes in real time and offer feedback. New with the update, take advantage of Cloud Backups, and sync local with Google Drive or Dropbox.
All these tools make it painless to launch any new site regardless of skill level.
“We’re doubling-down on our commitment to give back to the WordPress community by making all Local tools and features, including those formerly only available with a paid Local Pro subscription, free and available to all Local users,” said Seth Halpern, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Small and Medium Business for WP Engine.
